This is my group's glog. We find four different kinds of pop culture that is objects, people, events and places.

Our group member went on Lake Street, then we went to Macy's Store, we chose a very popular brand---Coach. It brand always attract ladies attention and already become a kind of fashion in the society. Then we went to Millennium Park, and asked a man to do the interview for us. He agreed with pop culture already become a part of our life. We also took the picture of a symbol of Millennium Park----Cloud Gate. We looked around the Millennium Park, we found three reporters of Swiss TV. One of them is a very famous .His name is Sebastien Fause. When we went back we went to Culture Center and found a lot of picture about the history of Chicago, one of pictures showed the event of old Chicago Water Tower and Pumping Station, it had became a symbol of the city in the past. It had a fire and been burned in 1871.It has been a pop event from that on.

Finally, we found pop culture already filled with all of our life and displayed everywhere.

My Three Words

My three words are stay with dolls. I think when people grow up, they will lost something from their nature. Stay with dolls will remain you remember some good memory in your childhood. It will support you become stronger and keep going.

Pop Culture in Our Life

In this modern society, popular culture already fills all of our life, and be displayed at everywhere. It is made up of all the objects, people, event, and places. Not only adult but also children are influenced by popular culture. We need to face the different components of popular culture, and already accept it become one part of our life. As a consumer of popular culture, we can see it help our life become more convenience.

After I come to U.S., I am not resisting American popular culture, and I am not easily influenced. I still keep my personal cultural identity to live in U.S.As a immigrant live in American, some of my habits have been changed, but most of them would not. I accept that people can return goods after they buy it. I think this is a kind of typical American popular culture in the world. It also influences our normal life, and makes it become more convenient. I cannot accept that we have to pay tip after we have eating. It doesn’t make sense for many of immigrants. But I think in many American people’s mind, they are used to do this. In my country it has never happened. There is an aspect I have changed, that is I think people from different country they still can live in the same country and get on well with each other.

Barrier between Adults’ and Children’s Entertainment

After reading this article, I find that in order to make more money, the movie industry tries to use different way to increase the sales volume of the movie. They use distinct method to help them make more money. The adult want to become more like children. However, children want to become like adults. Therefore, like the article mentioned, fathers go home after work to play with their children, for the purpose of entertainment. Children grow up with a sportive dad. Then the adults and children entertainment star to mixed.

It makes me think about one of my younger cousins who is only twelve years old, but she looks like she is twenty. Her mother always like take her watches TV and some movies when she was a little girl, even though she does not know anything about it. Then my cousin becomes more and more mature than normal. She already understand her mother’s burdens and many bard things of our life, although she only twelve years old. She is an obedient girl and smart girl.

Nevertheless, TV and movies also can be harmful for children. They also show something bad to children when they don’t have any ability to define everything. For example, children will learn a lot of force and the society will become confusion by their behaviors. In my opinion, the crossover between adults’ and children’s entertainment combines benefits and problems. The biggest problem is how you treat them, and what kind of information you learn from the different region.

Pop Music and Songs

Pop music as a genre developed in 1950s in England and United State. Most common themes in pop music are romantic love and feelings. Bass guitar, drum, Keyboard, Sampler is its typical instruments. It already become one of pop culture, it influence people in all respects.

Celine Dion is one of my favorite singers, I like her songs. When I searched some information about her, I found more about Celine Dion’s music career. She had ever failed in her life, but she still returned to music to keep her music opinion. I thought no matter how many problems you got before, if you still kept your belief, you would make your dream come true. In addition, I found a common from very singer. They all used their own music to express what they think about to the audiences. To be a good singer that is use their life to sing their music and never stop.

“Because you loved me” ---this song is a smash fit from Celine Dion’s “Falling into you “album. It was written by Diane Warren and produced by David Foster for the film “Up Close &Personal”. I first heard this song in high school when I was in China from my CD player. I personal believe it was a wonderful pop song. Every time i listened to it, i will get many magic dreams and enjoy the beautiful melody. Even through this song was released in 1996, it still can be listened around the world today.

Academy Award movie---“Brave Heart”

The people who have ever seen the movie---“Brave heart”, they have never forgotten the sense of when William Wallace used the rest of his strength to cry out "Freedom!" at the end. As the sense comes with emotional background music, it strikes deep into the minds of the people until the end.

“Brave heart” won the 68th Oscars best movie award in 1996, include this award it totally won five awards. This movie reorganized and based on a fact event in Scotland. The main actor William Wallace was a real historical hero in the history of Scotland. The director and main actor of the movie was the same person ---Mel Gibson.

I hope everyone come to watch this movie, because of all movie filled with a strong historical emotion and a kind of justifiable spirit. In my opinion, no matter kids or adults will like this movie. Reasonably, it is a very positive movie. It will help audiences to recognize the history and understand one kind of people who can fight for their freedom without thinking about their life.

Reflection on Technology

Technology already become one of important parts in our daily life. Many of productions that we used also rely on technology. As if cell phones, iPods, CD players, washing-machines, cameras, electronic dictionaries, Televisions and computers....... We cannot live without some of these high technological productions. It still has more and more new technological devices appeared and produced by new discovery, and always comes out with people’s requirement.

I think one kind of new technological devices will be developed in the future. It is the robot that can help people to do their housework. These robots will reduce people’s burdens, and have been a fashionable housekeep in the world. If the price can be cut down, it will be more popular and easier to people to accept it. Finally, I still feel technology is a benefit in our normal life. It shows us that our living standard has had a perceptible improvement. Therefore, technology can be one way to express the pop culture and filled with people’s daily life.
